Food allergens 

It is important to notify us if you have any food allergies at the time of ordering. Allergens may be present in a by-product purchased for decoration for example and not a direct product for use in the baking process. By making us aware we can ensure no such product is being used and can suggest an alternate. Allergens can be in any of the below forms:

Food colouring: Know what the E-numbers mean

Most if not all orders for cakes/cupcakes there is a request to use food colours. Some food colours can cause hyperactivity in children, so while wanting to have brightly coloured cakes it should be noted these colours are:

​

• Sunset yellow FCF (E110) – provides yellow/orange shade
• Quinoline yellow (E104) – provides a yellow shade
• Carmoisine (E122) – provides a red shade
• Allura red (E129) – provides a red shade
• Tartrazine (E102) – provides an orange shade
• Ponceau 4R (E124) – provides a red shade

Any of our products where we have been requested to use these colours it should be noted that it may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children.

Genetically Modified (GM) ingredients 

At wholovescupcakes we do not actively source and use products which have been genetically modified.
